Qatra was born from the idea that even the smallest act of compassion, a single drop, can form an ocean of change. Founded by a woman who grew up witnessing the silent resilience of Afghan women, Qatra carries the legacy of love, justice, and resistance.
We envision an Afghanistan where women are no longer bound by dependency or abuse, but are free to shape their own futures with dignity. We envision children who belong in classrooms, not on the streets, their laughter filling schools instead of fading into hardship. We envision a country where resilience is met with opportunity, and where women and children once trapped by circumstance finally break free.
Qatra’s mission is to build sustainable paths toward freedom and dignity. We provide Afghan women with tools and education to achieve financial independence, and we support orphaned and underserved children with access to schooling. Because at Qatra, we believe in the transformative power of knowledge — and in the unshakable truth that education and empowerment can change lives.
The Founder
Hosai Ayobi is a young law graduate, debut author, and activist. Born and raised in Afghanistan, she experienced exile after the fall of the Afghan government in 2021. She has lived the struggles of Afghan women and children firsthand — from the barriers to education, to the silencing of voices, to the resilience required to survive. Driven by these experiences, Hosai founded Qatra to transform pain into purpose. Through her work, she strives to break cycles of oppression by creating opportunities for education and financial independence. Her vision is simple yet powerful: an Afghanistan where women and children are not defined by suffering, but by strength, dignity, and opportunity. As the founder of Qatra, Hosai leads with empathy, courage, and an unshakable belief in the power of knowledge to change lives.

With degrees in Economics, Statistics, Business Administration, and an MBA, she brings a strong background in analysis, strategy, and management. For her, women’s empowerment is more than a cause, it is a personal calling. She has always believed that no woman should be forced to depend on someone else for her livelihood or value. She is deeply moved by how often women and children do not receive the recognition and support they deserve. She strongly believes that education is a right, not a privilege, and that every child should have access to learning, regardless of their circumstances. Becoming part of Qatra, gave her a platform to put these beliefs into action, creating opportunities that help women gain independence while providing children the support, guidance, and education they need to thrive.
